Beachfront Villas
At a time when resort prices in the Maldives have become unreasonably expensive, Coco Bodu Hithi manages to stay true to its value proposition by being located on its own island rather than sharing longer jetties with its competitors. Once arriving at the airport it takes only minutes by speedboat transfer to reach Coco Bodu Hithi where friendly staff dressed casually but in crisp uniforms are waiting with open arms and will whisk you off on golf cart to your villa.
At Invite to Paradise, we’ve had the opportunity to stay in both Beachfront Villas at Coco Bodu Hithi as well as Overwater Villas – and all can attest that each room is exquisite! Their design team have gone above and beyond in creating luxurious accommodation with some of the most exquisite furnishings and fittings found anywhere on this side of the world.

Overwater Villas
Coco Bodu Hithi Resort in the Maldives offers overwater villas. As soon as you step off of a speedboat and onto Coco Bodu Hithi Island’s lofty arrival pavilion, its inviting jetty extends invitingly ahead. Here, your eyes will feast upon an island boasting long stretches of powdery beach, turquoise shallow lagoon waters and lavish overwater bungalows dotted around. Coco Bodu Hithi will leave an imprint upon your heart that you won’t soon forget.
At your hotel’s beachfront villas, a team of the staff welcomes you with personalized check-in and a refreshing welcome drink before helping carry your luggage to its beachfront villa – an elegant overwater sanctuary larger than many hotel rooms with its own terrace, sunken living room, statuesque bathtub looking over the water, indoor/outdoor showers and indoor/outdoor showers.
Villas are situated at an appropriate distance apart along the edge of an overwater lagoon, giving guests plenty of privacy when basking in the sun or playing in the sea. Bodu Hithi Island can be explored easily on foot or by buggy at any time of day or night, offering visitors the freedom to experience authentic island living compared to some nearby resorts built with similar designs. You’ll have ample opportunity to take in its tropical flora while taking in views of its turquoise lagoon from every angle.
Alternatively, the resort features an impressive gym and even offers sunset yoga classes; most guests, however, are content just relaxing on its powdery white beaches, reading a book and sipping cocktails from one of its beachside bars.

You will also find an extensive selection of wines and champagne available in the lounges; or alternatively dine at Breeze Restaurant which serves breakfast-bed and-breakfast style dining.

After arriving at Male Airport, guests are met by a representative at a numbered kiosk and directed toward a speedboat for their trip towards the hotel – usually about an hour’s ride along scenic waters with occasional rough seas – where a speedboat brings them directly to their resort’s jetty for personalized check-in and welcome drinks in its restaurant lounge.
The resort boasts an expansive dining and drinking offering with seven indoor and outdoor restaurants and bars, including cocktail expert Ryan Chetiyawardana of Dandelyan bar fame creating an exquisite five-drink menu especially tailored to this resort. Mr. Lyan also took time out during my stay for a residency; his cocktails reflected both its tropical setting as well as the island’s rich biodiversity; working closely with local chefs he also collaborated on creating authentic Maldivian dishes.
