Meeru Island Resort & Spa Maldives

With 284 rooms and two pools, this resort is an excellent option for both families and couples. They will appreciate its numerous bars and restaurants.

Family-oriented facilities here include a children’s club, playroom and water sports activities. TUI holidays here come complete with an English-speaking hotel rep and 24/7 online support services.

Casual and unpretentious is the ambiance, featuring sand-floor bars and thatched open-air restaurants, while adults-only areas have been designated in both one buffet restaurant and the pool area.

Rooms

Although one of the larger resorts in Maldives, this resort always feels welcoming without being overcrowded. People love returning here time after time!

Maldives is an alluring holiday destination, known for its casual yet relaxing ambience and relaxed approach to tourism. Indeed, its entire country of Maldives was designed as such – providing visitors with a gorgeous natural retreat from our hectic lives.

At Meeru Island Resort & Spa, there are 286 rooms (both family-friendly and adult-only) to choose from. Each is decorated in authentic Maldivian style with wooden walls and cathedral ceilings, wooden furnishings and colorful textiles; higher category rooms provide Nespresso machines and private jetted tubs in open air bathrooms.

All rooms feature king-sized beds, furnished balconies, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and free bottled water as well as minibars stocked with soft drinks and snacks. In the higher category villas there is either an attached kitchenette or fully functional kitchens equipped with stovetops and refrigerators for easy cooking needs.

Certain rates offer all-inclusive packages, which includes meals and beverages at all of the resort’s restaurants as well as some non-alcoholic beverages and activities. All-inclusive guests may also take advantage of a complimentary roundtrip airport shuttle at scheduled times.

The resort is situated on a large island, making navigation through it somewhat cumbersome. There are shuttles running between the hotel and main part of town and a boat can take guests out to other islands if snorkeling or diving is desired.

At my visit, the main area of the hotel was very peaceful and relaxing, with almost an empty beach and only employees being seen at any given time in either its employee clubhouse or football pitch stretching from south coast to north coast of resort. While I found this ambiance to be enjoyable, others may prefer more lively groups for vacation.

Dining

Meeru Island Resort & Spa Maldives sets the bar high when it comes to dining options. Offering an impressive array of international eateries to keep guests well-fed during their stay, including delicious dishes from every corner of the globe, these outlets also serve as social hubs with themed dinners and dance parties; additionally, all meals are included as part of your package deal!

Meeru Resort in Maldives is an upscale three-year old resort with a strong following of repeat guests (mostly Europeans). Boasting 286 rooms, yet feeling intimately small. There’s a family area and adults-only area separated by pools; plus two buffet restaurants serving breakfast and dinner buffets respectively. Most guests stay on all-inclusive packages so the bars (of which there are six) remain lively during evening shows or post dinner programs.

Seriously, however, the staff are exceptionally kind and helpful. From greeting you at the speed boat jetty through getting your paperwork processed to handing over room keys they are beyond accommodating – particularly helpful for families as they know which villas offer jacuzzis as well as where best to sit for enjoying the view!

All rooms feature air conditioning, en suite bathrooms with tea and coffee making facilities, private porches with seating areas for relaxing on, flat screen satellite TVs with hairdryers, complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity and ample storage. On higher floors you will have views over the beach and lagoon; those on lower floors look out onto a lovely garden view.

All rooms at this resort are nonsmoking with the exception of certain suites, while children under 12 years of age eat free when accompanied by an adult on a full-board meal plan. Furthermore, an “All Inclusive Plus” plan provides all meals at all restaurants as well as the sunset dolphin cruise in one simple package rate.

Activities

There’s plenty to see and do at the resort, from pampering spa services (we were particularly fond of an Indian head massage) to thrilling water activities such as sunset cruises. One highlight is definitely enjoying stunning scenery and marine life found nearby – what better way than an intimate sunset cruise experience to do so!

At this resort, visitors will also find various leisure amenities, including a fitness center, two pools and four bars. Nightly entertainment programs feature themed DJ parties as well as Maldivian culture and heritage shows to make for a thrilling entertainment experience.

We were impressed by the diverse dining options, from buffet-style Farivalhu and Maalan restaurants to Asian Wok and Hot Rock (where seafood and steak can be prepared over volcanic hot rocks) restaurants.

Are You Searching for an Active Holiday? Those interested can try various water sports activities, from relaxing stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, to intense flyboarding. Other fun options include banana boat rides and catamaran sailing, jet ski rides or exploring nearby reefs with a dive lesson and snorkeling excursion in crystal clear waters.

After an eventful day of touring and adventuring, it may be tempting to head back to your room and relax in comfort – don’t settle for just any hotel room though — instead opt for one of Meeru Island Resort & Spa Maldives’ luxurious beach villas or water villas for ultimate relaxation!

Each room at this resort is beautifully appointed to ensure you have an amazing stay, featuring amenities such as private balconies or terraces with scenic views, coffee makers, refrigerators and refrigerators; some rooms even feature separate living areas!

When you’re ready to leave the resort, a short speedboat ride will bring you directly to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. Your resort may arrange airport transfers; for best results contact them 72 hours in advance with flight details. Alternatively, taxi rides typically take 35 minutes from there.

Spa

There’s plenty to do at this resort, but the primary draw is relaxation. The Duniye Spa features two sites (above water and on land) offering treatments including special couples packages. Furthermore, all therapists speak German, French or English for added personalization when selecting who you work with.

At Maldives’ top beach resort rooms, you will find everything from garden houses tucked among the trees to sand-floored water bungalows and villas that overlook the lagoon. Rooms offer everything necessary for an enjoyable stay, such as linen services, blackout curtains and air conditioning; plus many have private furnished porches or even Jacuzzis!

This upscale resort, the third oldest in the Maldives, enjoys a loyal following thanks to its spacious rooms, diverse activities and two buffet restaurants. Though family-friendly, most visitors spend at least one week here so expect it to be somewhat quieter than other larger hotels nearby.

At the resort, there are various bars and restaurants, offering two “all-you-can-eat” buffet-style restaurants as well as unique a la carte options. Of special note are two floating Asian wok restaurants – where chefs whip up noodles, stir fry and teppanyaki dishes directly above the water’s surface – and Hot Rock Restaurant, which specializes in serving seafood, steak or exotic game cooked on volcanic rocks to your specifications.

All meals are included with your package, and depending on the room type you will be assigned one of two main restaurants. All eateries are relaxed with some offering sand-flooring or thatched open-air design elements to create an authentic tropical vibe; others serve as festive hangout hubs hosting themed dinners, dance nights or live music sessions – it all works really well and gives the impression that this resort knows who its target market is!
